STAIRS

A stair is a number of steps leading from one level to another. It's function is to provide means of movement.

StepA step is a short horizontal surface for the foot to facilitate ascent from one level to another.
FlightA series of steps between floors of landings.
LandingA Platform between two flights.
StringerAn inclined member which if fixed to a wall may act as housing for the steps is called a stringer..
BalustradeA balustrade provides protection on the open sides of a stair.
RiseThis is the vertical distance between the upper surface of two consecutive treads.
GoingThis is the horizontal distance between nosing of two consecutive.
