Screens

Screens are available in many shapes and materials and could be either free standing or permanently fixed. They could be useful in a number of ways

i. Informal alternative to a door
ii. As a room divider iii. Protect your privacy from roads
iv. Turn a corner into a cozy niche
v. Covered in felt boards- could be turned into office pin board
vi. As a decorative element in a room.

These can visually divide areas. But they are unable to provide sound or fire resistance. Screens could be cured and shaped.

Points to watch

If your partitioning system is longer than 5m it may need buttressing for stability provided that there are no wall junctions.

Always buy a relocatable partition not a demountable partition. A demountable partition doesn't offer a promise of being remountable.

Your manufacturer may make existing systems obsolete by ceasing to make components. So always checked demand assurances.

Always be aware of the variations in floor height, position of columns, window mullions, floor trucking and suspend ceiling grids.
