After the construction of your home you could apply a finishing material on the walls. Wallpaper and paint are still the quickest way to finish a wall. But first you have to select the most suitable finishing material that suit your requirement and from what's available in the market.

The choice is enormous, but your decisions will be restricted by the condition of your house, it's architecture and your affordability. You should be cost conscious as whatever you spend on wall finish is expected to last only for few years. So it is rational to select a cheaper method of finishing your walls.

Colour and texture are equally important in finishing house walls. It adds glitter and glamour to your home. Children love deep colors. So don't hesitate to go for deep colours, at least in children's room.

Think of your house as a whole and follow your ideas through. Following are a few questions to ask yourself before applying finishing materials to your house.

iii. What are they made of?

iv. Can present finishes be used as a basis for future decoration?

v. Could your house do with more warmth or sound insulation?

viii. Could proportions or messy areas be improved visually?
