Roller blinds

These are very neat. You can couple these with other types of window treatments. For example, when you need a little bit of darkness you can use Roller Blinds coupled with sheers. Many of these are washable. Some could be sponged. If you are choosing a fabric for your Roller Blind always select a tightly woven flat cotton fabric.

Roman Blinds

Roller blinds are similar to Roller Blinds but these are pulled with a cord into accordion pleats. This makes a neat pleated pelmet. These could be made with any type of fabric material. They could either be wall mounted or ceiling mounted. If used over a large expanse you have to group Roman Blinds into a several of 1.2m wide, each. A single very wide Roman Blind is hard to handle.

Pinoleums, Slatted Wood and Quills

These are a cheap solution for large expanses of glass where curtains are not needed. They could even be fixed onto sloping ceilings also. Pinoleumes are made of fine wood strips which are woven together with cotton. A plastic version is also available. They allow a soft light to filter in.
