Sculptural Forms

You can use sculptural forms such as statue in your garden as a decorating element. Statues have always been on expression of man's mind and because of their obvious human origin they at once draw attention to themselves and stand out from their natural surroundings. For this reason they are natural focal points. From a far attention is projected to them. So that all the ground between them and the beholder is at once recognized as man's domain.

Rock formation must surely rank as nature's greatest essay in sculpture. In the garden if can be used in it's quitter natural form bedded as strata and forming a habitat for plants or it may be in natures more exuberant vein as spectacular outcrops or in the tumbled be of a stream. Or it may be purely used as sculpture unrelated to nature's intention. A single rock can give significance to a group of plants. It clarifies the design by providing solidity focal point contrast of texture and reason for the tall form on one side and the low grouping on the other.

Many structures in the garden can be used to give structural form. For example stair, fountains walls could be used as sculptural forms.

House terraces used as sculptural forms unite the house and tree garden.

Seats have always been a traditional garden feature and must remain so for the invitation of temporary stop or panes rest and look which is the essence of garden.
