Furniture
Living room furniture could be categorized into two. The elements
that form the rooms, basic organization-sofas, easy chairs, dining/work
tables and storage units. The smaller things such as side tables,
sofa tables and drink tables, occasional choice and standard lamps
helps to make pieces in the first category more effective.
Flexibility
A multi-purpose living room should be able to accommodate any
number of activities. Furniture should not only fulfill their
specific functions but also should adapt easily to variety of
others. So keep the scheme flexible as possible.
Seating
Good seating arrangement is the nucleus of your living room. You
can select from a wide variety, from cane furniture to sophisticated
cushioned furniture. Think about all the possible ways before
you make the final decision. Bear in mind that the old three-piece
suite is the least flexible of the lot. Sofas and Chairs Two-seater
sofas take less space then two easy chairs. They give mass & weight
to the composition of your furniture. Three-seater sofas are not
comfortable where conversation is concerned. But they could be
comfortable for watching TV.
Seating Groups
When it comes to large groups large shaped seating are the most
economical. With them people can sit comfortably leaving the rest
of the floor free for circulation. It is not a must for all your
furniture to match each other. But if they belongs to various
eras, models, shapes and sizes cover them all with related fabrics
so that there will be an overriding similarity. You can further
unify the scheme by selecting a curtain fabric that also matches
the furniture and the rest of the interior.
