Storage

Kitchen unit sizes are related closely to equipment. Most of the foodstuff may be stored on 5 in./127 mm shelves. Spice jars could be stores on 2 in./51 mm shelving. As everything in on view and as there is no reaching over to the back your shelves could be close together. Practically it is possible to store everything in a 12in./305 mm deep shelf comfortably.

Equipment

The sink should be as close as possible to the hot water supply. If it is impossible think about an electric storage cylinder. A sink below the window looks pleasant. The china rack should also be near. If you do not own a dishwasher a double sink is a must for quick washing up. Waste disposer needs its own sink so that the rubbish do not interfere with the main sink.

Waste disposal

The best option to dispose your waste is to use a chute and collect your trash in a sealed bin outside. Cans and bottles could be thrown into paper containers fitted on the inner doors of the units. For bulky paper and cartons have a large plastic container attached to cupboard door which opens as the door opens or use an incinerator to burn them.
