Walls


To withstand the heat and also the water ceramic or stainless steel are the best for your kitchen. In areas where there is no big heat, cork, vinyl or timber could be used. Timber boards fixed on batters could be used hide wires, pipe etc. If you are painting the walls, use a good quality paint.

Floors

Sealed or vinyl cork is a good choice for kitchen floors. Even battleship quality linoleum or ceramic could be used. If your kitchen already is paved with brick or rubble try to use an appropriates plastic coating. A Matt finish coat is the best.

Ceilings

It is advisable to use a sound insulating material to keep the kitchen quiet. If so, you have to have an efficient extraction system or else the ceiling will be permeated with grease and the kitchen full if unpleasant smells.
