Special
Sealant Groove
Sealant must be made of quality material and be correctly installed
to provide long term weather tightness.
To ensure the proper placement of sealant, all Butlerib II roof
panels are engineered and produced with a "Sealant Groove"
to assure accurate and pecise placement of sealant material.

Return Leg
Provides Support
To provide added support support against roof traffic, Butlerib
II roof panels incorporate a "Return Leg" feature that
assures a proper fit and positive seal at side-lap connections.
Roof panels of other systems without this return leg feature often
separate under fastner installation or roof traffic pressure, increasing
the probability of roof failure and leaks.
Roof systems
MR-24®
The MR-24 Roof
is an exclusive single skin metal roof, covering your entire building,
with a unique method of connecting roof panels, and panels to roof
purlins (roof structural).
There are no fastener holes except at the eave and, if needed, when
a panel splice occurs. The panels are joined together with Pittsburgh
double lock standing seam, and to purlins with a unique clip formed
into the seam.
The industry's most specified roof system, with field proven record
since its introduction in 1969; it carries a U.L. Class 90 wind
uplift rating.

Weathertightness
You are assured
of weathertight performance because of Butler's exclusive Pittsburgh
double lock standing seam. During installation, the edges of each
roof panel are joined and mechanically turned 180 degrees by the
"Roof Runner", a portable roll forming machine, completing
a full 360 degrees seam.
The seam stands 2-3/4" above roof's surface to prevent leaks
caused by water run - off. Inside the seam, factory applied sealant
eliminates the chance for even tiny capillary leaks.

Standing Seam
Roof systems CMR-24®
The CMR-24 Roof
is designed primarily for distribution
centers, warehouses and strip shopping centers. Steel liner panels
provide increased durability and finished interior appearance. Rigid
Board insulation provides excellent thermal performance without
energy-leaking thin spot. Finally, the MR-24 system serves as the
roof's weathering membrane. So, all of the weathertightness, wind
uplift, expansion and contraction and roof alignment benefits found
in the MR-24 roof can also be found in the CMR-24 roof.
Wind
Uplift
Both the MR-24 and CMR-24 roofs carry the highest rating awarded
by Underwriters Laboratories for wind uplift: the Class 90 rat ing.
In many locales, this rating will result in lower insurance premiums
for new buildings.
Roof Movement
The natural forces of expansion and contraction are often the cause
of many roof leaks. As
temperatures change, the roof expands or contracts. Unless the roof
is designed to
accommodate this movement, fasteners will work loose on metal; and
roof-cracks, blisters and splits will appear on built-up roofs.
The MR-24 and CMR-24 roofs are designed to
accommodate roof movement. They are attached to the building's structure
with a special clip and tab assembly that is formed into the double
lock seam. Because the tab can move within the clip, the entire
roof can expand and contract freely, with-out sacrificing structural
integrity.
Energy Savings
While most systems are intended to save energy, few actually do
so with-out problems. For example when thicker insulation is used
on convention-al built-up roofs, fuel bills may be reduced, but
the additional insulation may also speed up the inevitable deterioration
of the roof surface. Because both MR-24 and CMR-24 roofs are metal
and move freely with the forces of expansion and contractions, insulation
thickness will not cause roof deterioration.
Re-roofing
With Butler Roof Systems Most roof repairs are really only temporary
solutions. By their very
nature, most built-up roof systems ultimately leak.
There is a long-term solution to roof problems; re-roofing using
the MR-24 standing seam roof system.
Roofs leak because the forces of expansion and contraction literally
tear holes in the surface. TheMR-24 roof system is designed to move
with those forces. Special sliding tabs in the clips allow the roof
to freely move up to 2 1/2" (63mm) and the clips securely hold
the roof panels to supporting structural members.
Each MR-24
roof panel is seamed to the adjoining panel to form a single, monolithic
steel membrane covering your building. The weather tight seam is
speciala full 360° Pittsburgh double-lock standing seam.
Because the MR-24 roof system is aluminum-zinc coated steel it won't
crack, peel or decay like many built up roofs. That means virtually
no maintenance bills in the years to come.
In most cases you can install the MR-24 roof system right over your
existing built-up, single ply or metal roof.
You save
on labor costs needed to tear off your current roof and interrupt
your business activities during the process.
You may even find re-roofing can increase your building's energy
efficiency. Most energy loss occurs through the roof. Adding insulation
under the MR-24 roof system can result in lower utility bills.
Lower maintenance cost, weather tightness, easy installation energy
savingsthe MR-24 roof
system is a long term solution to your roof problems.
